Water in Watercolour

Hi, I have been asked a few times how do i paint water in watercolour, so , the best way i have come up with is to show you here.

From my e book :  Easy Watercolours.

The first thing is to dampen the paper where you want your water to be .

Then add some Lemon Yellow , then add a bit of green while all is wet, work quite fast as you don`t want it to dry out

Then add some Ultra marine and a bit of Burnt Umbar and drop that in from the top , just under the river bank.

I have added some more Lemon Yellow and Ultra Marine to the far bank, a bit deeper in colour.

Now leave to dry then add your river bank , and you have water with reflections.. All you need do now is practice this , it is the same for all water weather it be a river , canal, or lake.

I hope this helps and i hope you have fun .

Regards.

Col..
